Business Incubators, IT becoming essential City Services

July 22, 2011 (Columbus, OH) – Electricity, water and sewer are pretty much on every must-have list when businesses prospect for a location. More often, Central Ohio communities are considering technology an essential service.

And when it comes to startups, government help is even more hands-on. Suburban business incubators are popping up around Interstate 270, offering broadband access and a suite of consulting services to entrepreneurs.

“It’s critical infrastructure,” said Kenny McDonald, CEO of the Columbus2020 regional economic development coalition. “Moving zeros and ones around the world permeates a lot of the industries we work with now.”
