DRS, LLC Hits the Airwaves with Educational Series on IT

DRS is one of five Youngstown-based tech companies featured

Feb. 28, 2011 (Youngstown, OH) –  DRS, LLC is proud to announce its participation in an educational web series about information technology in northeast Ohio. The series is targeted towards 15-25 year olds and highlights the diversity of job careers in the IT field while also showcasing job opportunities in our own backyard. DRS is one of five Youngstown-based technology companies featured in the series.

DRS COO Dave Wilkeson said he jumped on the opportunity to showcase local IT talent and opportunities.

“DRS has seen rapid growth over the past handful of years and with that comes job creation. In 2010, we hired 9 new employees, 8 from northeast Ohio,” said DRS COO Dave Wilkeson. “One of our focuses for 2011 is to push forward this tech belt initiative connecting Pennsylvania, Youngstown, Cleveland and even down to Columbus. It’s obvious there is a need for IT professionals in this area.”

The series, called Flannel IT, is the first of many industry-cluster shows on northeast Ohio career opportunities. They are all being produced by UNCOMN.TV in cooperation with OEConnection, LLC. Flannel IT will air over an 8-week period starting March 2. It can be seen on www.uncomn.tv and is broken down into three segments: Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown.
